Camp Phenomenal

WHO CAMP PHENOMENAL IS FOR:

Girls who will be age 10-14 at the time of camp

WHERE WE'LL BE:

Campers will be housed in our “home away from home” homestead. A counselor will stay in the cabin with the campers overnight with additional staff less than 50 yards away. We always maintain an on-site staff to camper ratio of at least 1:5.

WHAT WE'LL DO:

Campers will draw on inspiration from the nature around them and work as a team to create their own art exhibit and/or performance showcase, presented for family and friends at the end of the camp.
*Note: Performance shy? No worries! There are many non-performance ways to contribute to the showcase!

ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Art Activities: Arts and Crafts, Camp JAM, Dance, Digital Photography, Drawing and Painting, Friendship Bracelet Making, Music Lessons, Make Your Own Musical Instruments, and more.

  • Adventure Activities: Hiking, Wilderness Survival Class, Edible Foods Hike, Stream Play

  • Action Activities: Ultimate Frisbee, Yoga, Horse Care, Zumba

  • Inspiration Activities: Natural Materials Scavenger Hunt, Listening Walk, Wildlife Observation

Additionally, campers will have free creation time every day.

WHY WE DO IT:

Phenomenal Womxn believes that an empowerment model based in arts education supports the development of self-efficacy, self-advocacy, and self-esteem. Girls entering adolescence are at a critical point in their personal growth, and these skills support their journey toward increased wellbeing in adulthood.
